The story of Bering Flowers
It was his grandmother who sparked Erik Bering's interest in the wild flowers of nature.
He began his apprenticeship in the 60s at "Viola" in Hellerup. This was followed by a study stay in Paris and "Flower House" in London. It was especially the stay in London that made a great impression on him. The romantic style, a little heavy, a little violent.
In 1972, he opened "The House of Flowers" in Købmagergade. The philosophy that all flowers are equally worthy and that all people are equally welcome in the business is still alive today.
In 2003, Bjarne Als was appointed Royal Court Supplier and took over the business from Erik Bering.

About Bjarne Als
Bjarne Als was born in 1965 and raised in Fredensborg. Bjarne started his career as a flower decorator at the age of 11. From 1976-1980 he worked as a florist and assistant at "Country House" in Fredensborg.
In 1982 he started as an apprentice at Erik Bering, The House of Flowers Aps. Bjarne Als and Erik Bering have since worked together on several assignments, both for the Danish and international royal houses.

The title of Royal Court Supplier
In 1990, the floral artist Erik Bering of “The House of Flowers” received permission to use the name Royal Court Supplier. In 2004, the Royal House renewed the permission with Bjarne Als as the new owner of “Bering House of Flowers”.
In both appointments, the Royal House stated that the permission would automatically lapse upon a change of throne.
We have taken great pride in living up to the reputation and trust that the Royal House has shown us over the years. Bering House of Flowers craftsmanship, quality and DNA will always be at our heart.
The Danish Royal House has throughout the years contributed inspiration to our work with flowers and we will continue to humbly serve the Royal House regardless of the Royal House's future decisions.

"The best you can achieve is when the essence of what you create is the love for your work. I have always tried to create things that can bring joy to others and, through that, to myself."
